At AB+ZU, we believe good design is a smart investment—one that enhances your daily life, improves functionality, and adds long-term value to your home. This guide outlines how we structure our design services, where your investment goes, and why it pays off.
Our Philosophy
Design is not just what things look like. It’s how your home works for you. From the first layout sketch to the last lighting fixture, every detail is considered through the lens of use, mood, and flow.
Typical Ranges
These ranges are based on past projects. Your project may vary depending on complexity, timeline, and scope.

The AB+ZU Process
Pre-Design – Site measure, inventory, constraints
Concept Design – Mood, layout, style direction
Design Development – Materials, sketches, elevations
Construction Documents – Full drawing/spec package
(Optional) Oversight – Builder communication & site review
Each phase builds toward clarity and cohesion, so your contractor has everything needed to execute with precision.
Why It Matters
A builder can build—but only a designer sees the whole picture. From proportion and materiality to storage and mood, our job is to connect your lifestyle to your space in a way that lasts.
Design is not just about taste. It’s a system to protect your investment, eliminate friction, and deliver a better end result.
Let us know if you’d like a custom quote or to begin with a concept phase.
